Sheet Pan Steak and Fries

This healthier Sheet Pan Steak and Fries delivers all the satisfaction of a classic steak dinner without the deep fryer. Lean sirloin steak and oven-baked fries seasoned with herbs and spices — all on one pan for easy prep and easy cleanup. Protein-packed, satisfying, and genuinely delicious. Clean eating doesn’t get better than this!

The Healthy Advantages

  • Sirloin steak is a lean, high-quality protein source
  • Oven-baked fries use a fraction of the oil of deep frying
  • Seasoned with herbs and spices — no heavy sauces or additives
  • One pan means no multiple pots of oil to manage or dispose of
  • Nutrient-dense meal with protein and complex carbohydrates

Ingredients

  • 2 sirloin steaks (6–8 oz each) — lean and flavorful
  • 3 medium russet or sweet potatoes, cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Lemon wedges to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line sheet pan with parchment paper (no foil needed).
  2. Toss potato strips with 1.5 tbsp olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread in a single layer with space between each.
  3. Roast 20 minutes, flipping halfway, until beginning to crisp and color.
  4. Pat steaks dry. Rub with remaining olive oil, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  5. Push fries aside and add steaks to center of pan.
  6. Roast 8–12 minutes to desired doneness. Rest steaks 5 minutes.
  7. Serve with lemon wedges and fresh parsley.

Healthy Tips

  • Use sweet potato fries for more fiber, vitamins, and a lower glycemic response
  • Sirloin is the leanest flavorful cut — trim visible fat before cooking
  • Use parchment paper instead of foil — it’s naturally non-stick without added grease
  • Skip butter in favor of a squeeze of lemon juice over the rested steak
  • Pair with a large salad to boost fiber and micronutrient intake

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve alongside a big green salad with lemon vinaigrette
  • Add roasted asparagus or broccoli to the pan for extra vegetables
  • Serve with a wedge of lemon and fresh herbs instead of sauce
  • Pair with sparkling water with lime for a refreshing non-alcoholic option
  • Leftovers make excellent steak salads the next day
