Why you'll love it
- Her big head, rosy cheeks, and curls give her an irresistibly cute look.
- The dress bodice is worked as part of the body, so there is less sewing.
- Front loop ruffles create pretty white trims on the boots and sleeves with no extra pieces.
- Every round has a stitch count, which keeps the shaping accurate.
- She makes a treasured keepsake or a festive Christmas decoration.

Gauge: 24 sc and 26 rounds = 4 in (10 cm) in DK cotton with a 2.75 mm hook. Head gauge: Rounds 1-10 measure about 3.25 in (8 cm) across when flat. Tight, even stitches matter more than exact gauge.

Assembly
- 1
Face: check that the safety eyes are secure, then embroider the smile, lashes, and eyebrows if you have not already. Sew a pink cheek just outside and slightly below each eye.
- 2
Hair: place the hair cap on the head with the 20-stitch opening framing the face. Sew around the edge of the cap. Sew two curls on each side of the face, at the lower edge of the cap.
- 3
Collar: slip the collar ring over the neck so it rests on top of Body Round 18.
- 4
Head: center the head on the neck with the face pointing forward. Using the neck tail, sew the neck to the bottom of the head with tight stitches, adding a little extra stuffing in the neck as you close.
- 5
Arms: sew the flat top of each arm to the side of the body at Round 17, just below the collar.
- 6
Buttons: sew the two buttons down the center front of the bodice, at about Round 12 and Round 15.
- 7
Hat: place the hat on the head so the white brim sits low over the forehead and hair. Sew around the inside of the brim. Fold the hat tip to one side and tack it in place.
- 8
Pompom and holly: sew the pompom to the hat tip. Sew the two holly leaves and three berries to the side of the hat where the tip folds over.
- 9
Optional: brush a little blush onto the cheeks and embroider a tiny bow on the front of each boot.
Important notes
- Tip: This is an original pattern inspired by the photo. Hidden construction details, yarn weight, and dimensions are interpreted from the image, and the pattern has not been physically test-crocheted.
- Tip: Abbreviations (US terms): ch = chain, sc = single crochet, hdc = half double crochet, dc = double crochet, sl st = slip stitch, MR = magic ring, BLO = back loop only, FLO = front loop only, dec = decrease (invisible single crochet decrease).
- Tip: Work all amigurumi pieces in continuous rounds unless the instructions say to join, and move the stitch marker up each round.
- Tip: The ch 1 or ch 2 at the start of joined rounds does not count as a stitch.
- Tip: Stuff firmly, especially the head and neck, so the doll holds its shape.
- Tip: Safety: safety eyes, buttons, and small sewn-on parts can be choking hazards. For babies and children under 3, embroider the eyes, use crocheted buttons only, and sew every piece on very securely.
Pattern FAQ
How do I keep the head from flopping?
Stuff the neck and upper body very firmly and sew the head on with tight stitches around the whole neck. For a display doll, you can also push a craft stick through the neck into the head, but do not do this for a toy meant for young children.
Can I use acrylic yarn?
Yes. Acrylic is softer and slightly fuzzier, while cotton gives crisper stitch definition. Use a hook size that gives a tight fabric with no gaps, whichever yarn you choose.
Can I make the clothes removable?
This pattern builds the bodice into the body. For removable clothes, make the body entirely in tan, then crochet the dress as a separate tube with armholes, and make the hat and boots as separate pieces.
How big will the doll be with a different yarn?
With fingering-weight yarn and a 2.25 mm hook, she will be about 7.5 in (19 cm) tall. With worsted yarn and a 3.5 mm hook, she will be about 12 in (30 cm) tall.
How do I wash her?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap whenever possible. If needed, hand wash gently in cool water, squeeze out the water without wringing, reshape, and let her air dry completely.
