Important notes
- Tip: This is an original pattern inspired by the photo. Hidden details are interpreted from the image, and the pattern has not been physically test-crocheted.
- Tip: Abbreviations (US terms): ch = chain, sc = single crochet, hdc = half double crochet, dc = double crochet, sl st = slip stitch, MR = magic ring.
- Tip: The ch 3 at the start of mesh rows counts as a hdc and a ch-1 space. The ch 1 at the start of sc rows does not count as a stitch.
- Tip: Measure your rolls first. The baskets fit rolls up to about 4.5 in (11.5 cm) across.
Pattern FAQ
Why is the basket wall made as a flat strip?
Working flat lets you place every bobble on a wrong-side row, so they all pop out on the right side without turning rounds.
Will the panel stretch?
Half double crochet mesh in cotton is fairly firm. For extra support, sew ribbon or twill tape along the back of each side edge.
Can I use acrylic yarn?
Yes, but acrylic stretches more under weight. Cotton or a cotton blend is better for a bathroom.
How do I wash it?
Remove the rolls, hand wash in cool water or machine wash gently in a laundry bag, reshape the baskets, and lay flat to dry.
